The beach on Denarau stretches for a couple of miles which is suitable for beach walking.There are many activities at your door step that you can do and they include;

• There are day cruises available. The trips to the offshore islands and island resort transfers leave from the Denarau Marina
• If you are seeking fun and adventure DO NOT miss the “Shotover Jet”. This is a thrill seeking speed boat ride that travels at high speeds and takes you on 360 degree spins. It will be a ride that you will never forget!
• The Nadi area is surrounded by spectacular mountains which can be explored on day tours.

Flights to Denarau Island

Air travel to Denarau is easy…especially if you live in Australia or Asia. There are cheap direct flights from Brisbane Australia if you are looking for a discount.

At the time of writing this page, Virgin Airlines and Air Pacific are the two main airways that fly to Fiji from Brisbane (if you are flying from within Australia).

Nadi Airport is located approximately 20 minutes from Denarau Island. The international airport is where all international flights arrive and depart.

 

 

 

 

You can take a taxi or shuttle bus to go into Denarau.

There are a few Pacific island holiday packages that are available. Depending on the number of days you plan to stay in Denarau, you can organise a package deal that includes airfare flights, accommodation and transfers.

 

I would highly recommend to travel to Denarau during the non-cyclone prone months. This is anytime around early April to December.

You would know that as recent as early Jan 2009 many parts of Fiji was flooded. This isn’t a common occurance but usually happens approximately every 10 years.

 

In November 2008 when I was over there for my brother’s wedding the weather was perfect, with only one rainy day that only lasted 2 hours.

The rest of the one week holiday was approximately 30 degrees. Just right for a tropical island holiday….
